| Sep. 20th, 2009 10:59 am website info and help I have a geocities website and of course, they are closing soon, so, of course I have waited 'til last minute to do something because I am so bad at this website thing.
I now have a tripod site, but they are not as lame user friendly as was geocities. Tripod has a website builder, but that's okay for the home page but way too busy and SLOW for the multiple story pages. Also, I'm stuck with their layouts and styles. . . not that I have any great talent that way but I would rather pick what all.
Geocities had a step by step and then an upload manager. I have a simple HTML creator ProMetal but with the Tripod, I can't find how to do the uploading with their site. . .their FAQs don't have answers to my questions. They have the option of - I'm an experienced site builder and want to upload my files – take me to the File Manager. . . .but that looks like greek to me. . . .
What do you all use? 5 comments - Leave a comment

| Jul. 15th, 2009 01:44 am Close Quarters - A Professionals Con - Yipee I'm off today to Maryland for my most favorist convention ever.
All Pros - all the time!! Wow, it feeds my most obsessive need, talking about Bodie and Doyle.
I get to see friends and they like to talk about Bodie and Doyle, too. This is better than a spa weekend anytime. I get to be with my bestest buddies {{waves to buddies}}. I will make a con report after, unless of course that is if I can not squee here during. . . . Who's kidding who, I'm squeeing already. 8 comments - Leave a comment

| Jun. 15th, 2009 10:24 am The passing of a friend Yesterday, my friend Stuart passed away. He always had time for chatting, he made me feel so welcome whenb I was a newbie and our monthly get-togethers will never be the same without him.
Fandom has lost a fan, a friend, a resource, and a person that really understood what fandom was all about.
Good-by my friend. Leave a comment

| Oct. 28th, 2008 06:04 pm Mind the Gap London was fabulous!!!!
When asked what was my favorite thing. . . .the TUBE wins hands down. It was so organized and fun at the same time. The first couple of times I got turned about but after that it was the best way of getting around. Oyster Pass in hand, no place I wanted to visit in London was difficult. (Remember, I am from Southern California and we don't have underground traveling -unless you count gophers.)
Museums were free!!! What a concept. My legs hated me at the end of the first week.
I took a pic of Oxfam and Mark & Spencers. . . .they are so Pros to me. . . my husband thought I was nuts (he hadn't twigged yet that they were places connected to Pros fic)
I went to several "Pros" sites that I could manage without my husband suspecting. He guessed several times but he got into the whole "pub crawl" thing. We ate at pubs a lot, to get the feel of England. We stayed at pubs with rooms all through east and west England.
Cornwall was great. I was imagining Bodie at Land's End (probably looks way different that he remembered it. . .lol)
I so looked forward to clotted cream. . . . .so imagine my surprise that it was more butter like than for sticking in my tea. . . LOL on me. It was good. . . .we had "tea" several times. One time, "high tea" at the Brown Hotel. . .that was spectacular.
Dover on the east side of England was wonderful as well. The white cliffs are really white and very soft.
My husband went castle crazy and we visited 7. Cardiff Castle was ornate but The Tower had the awesome feel of history.
Stonehenge was eerie and cool at the same time. . . we visited Avebury as well and there we could touch the 6000 yr old stones.
Food was great, people were great, places were great. . . . . but, and this is a big but. ..
The roads SUCK!
I thought that I would be able to drive all over the country in the 4 weeks I was there. . . .boy were my friends that had been snickering behind my back right. . . . .fat chance of that.
Driving on the wrong side of the road was the least of the shortcomings. . .it was the roads themselves. . . they are big enough if all were driving minis (the original ones). . . .and folks have a whole different definition of parking. . . . if it's in the middle of the road, it's okay. (I'm not kidding. . . the law makers are considering making a law that will force folk to park within 2 feet of the kurb. . . . .lol)
Queues likely. . . .the signage was so bloody polite. Which was the contrast to TV that has no bleep outs. . .lol.
Squee here. . . .one Saturday afternoon we got back early and what was on the telly??? Yup, you guessed. . .The Professionals. . . . .and even though I had all the eps with me on my iPod, I still sat there and watched the whole thing "Madness of Mickey Hamilton". . . my husband took a pic of my drooling . . .lol.
I drove the whole time. . .a vauxall. . .no capris on offer.
Favorite new British show "Mock the Week". . .I haven't laughed that hard in a long while.
I was hoping to meet up with another fan on my last day there but I was unconnected to internet and couldn't get it set up, that was a disappointment. . . .so I will just have to go again on a Pros sojourn.
I loved England and can't wait to go back. Mind the Gap. . . . lol. 24 comments - Leave a comment

Production Order: # 22
Synopsis: Doyle and Bodie get involved in an attempted assassination and the siege of a London mansion while acting as escorts for an Arab VIP.
I do enjoy this ep. . . . . . I am shallow and this feeds my shallowness, but it also has some fine protective Bodie moments.. . . . . .And did I mention there are bums. . . . .yes, the fine glorious British bums of our lads!!
WARNING: major shallow alert. . . . . . .

Mar. 19th, 2008 01:55 pm I'm Keeping My Promise to justacat An LJ departure for me. I was at Escapde this last week and I made a promise to justacat that I would show some pics of my pets. My normal pets – cats and the not so normal – bats.
With the picture comes the lesson on this very misunderstood critter. Most bats are insect eaters, eating between 400 and 600 an hour. They feed some 10 hours a night. They are passive, truly non-aggressive critters, unless, of course, you're an insect. Common size for these flying mammals is between your thumb size and two fingers. 9-11 grams is average weight. And, a big And here, their closest genetic relative are primates. NOT rodents.
Oh, of course there are vampires, but only 3 species and 2 of those only drink bird blood ( so you chickens be on the lookout). Only one species drinks mammal blood and they only live in the Brazilian rainforest.
Okay . . . lesson over.
If you're still here, ( Pics under the cut. ) 12 comments - Leave a comment
